SKF Writing for Children

I've been a children's writer for seven years and a ICT teaching assistant at a junior school. I'm a lover of butterflies and cats. I love Tai chilly crisps and mint crumbles. Favourite food freshly cooled Lobster, champange and strawberries.

The before and after....still more to do.

How the kitchen and bathroom were, what they are now. I've still work to do, but it is getting there. I've managed to decorate most of the rooms, but only by slapping white paint over everything. It looks clean and fresh. Due to woodworm I've had to stop, just now. Floor boards have to be replaced, joists checked and the stairs looked at. Once that has been completed, I'll pick up the white paint again and make it look all fresh. Hopefully it will be finished by the Summer holidays.
I'm off to write now. I'm working on plots for two books and hope that they'll be enough subplots to make the books worth writing. They are looking good so far.

Winchester competitions....

I've been sorting out what I'm going to be sending to Winchester Writers Conference this June. I'm hoping to send in four items, two for the children's, one short story and the opening chapter of a novel. I've got lots of work to do, but I'm getting there.
The rewrite of Granny Liz is coming on nicely; it is amazing how much I'm tossing aside. I just hope it still makes sense when I print it off and re read it as a novel. I'm working chapter by chapter and it is changing dramatically. I'm about to go off and bring in the changes to chapter three and then attack chapter four. It is scary pulling things apart, but it is astonishing how different the work is once you've really worked on it. I just hope at the end of it the puzzle pieces will still fit together.

A welcome break

Sorry for not updating my blog for such a long time, but I've been having major work done at the house. New kitchen, bathroom, rewire, central heating and now I'm awaiting the arrival of the woodworm man. He is going to remove all the woodwormy floor boards, treat and replace with new ones. I'm just hoping the joists aren't also effected. If so that will be another major job. I'll stick a couple of pictures up here soon to show you.
I'm off for the Easter holidays, its great working in a school. I've finished decorating because of the woodworm and have picked up the laptop and started writing once again. I've sent out a few things and am currently working on rewriting two novels. Yes I'm doing them together, it keeps them fresh in my mind. They are both so different.
P.s for those of you who saw how old I was, I'm not but I'm not going to let you know exactly how old I am. A girl has to have her secrets.
