Weekends are so wonderful

Its now Monday and I'm preparing to go off to work. The weekend has been a good one. I've spent it all at home. Not going out and have relaxed. Once the household chores have been done, it's been my laptop and me. Bliss.
I'm currently working on Blades of Time, which is working well. I'm writing it in a completely different way than normal, and according to my son, it is good. I hope when the time comes to send out the first three chapters, that the agents and publishers share his enthusiasm.
I'm about to start chapter seven and this is where things change dramatically. I hope the flow will continue and the change of time period will work effectively. I'll find as it grows.
I'm off now so until next time…

It's great when it is working

Many writers like myself, have times when the work we produce is slow. I've just been going through this time and at last have come out the other side. I've been tweaking and plotting different pieces, but I haven't got down to any serious writing. Not until this weekend anyway. I've a last started work on another novel. 'Blades of Time' is a novel aimed at the 12+ age group and is moving quickly. This has been developed from my winning entry at the Winchester Writers Conference 2006. I've taken in to consideration the comments on my critique and have altered the story quite a lot, however the overall idea remains the same. I'm quite confident that it is working and won't lose momentum. Which some pieces are wont to do. I do hope I'm not setting myself up for a fall.
Well I'm off to write so until next time…

What a few weeks!

Life has been a bit hectic over the last few weeks. My poor computer has been infected with horrid Trojans and stuff. But she is back feeling a lot better now with new protection.
I've been trying to update my submission listings only to find it really hard to get a response from those holding/reading my work. I'm not complaining, but I would like to know if I should start a new project or wait a little longer. I've got a few ideas developing nicely, plotting, character building etc, but I don't want to start writing up something new when with luck I might have to do a rewrite or work with an agent or publisher to prepare for publication. I can hope if nothing more.
I've had great news from a writing friend of mine who has recently got an agent. Another friend has just signed an amazing publishing deal and is set for big things. It is wonderful to be around people who are moving forward. It just goes to show it can be done. When the time is right for you.
For me, I'm moving forward, but not as fast as I would like. I can't give up now. I've come so much further than I could have believed years ago. I've still got a way to go, I know that, but I am moving in the right direction.

2007 is here - HAPPY NEW YEAR

The New Year is here and I wish you all a peaceful, prosperous and productive 2007. May it be full of happiness, excitement and moments to cherish along the way.

Why not give someone a special hug today. Go on make someone's day.

For all you writers, I hope this year sees you move forward in your writing, to gain understanding, skills and contacts.

I've decided to start the year off in the way I mean to go on. I've four short manuscripts packaged and ready to send. They will indeed go off on Tuesday. Two short stories - one picture book and the sample chapters of a novel for the 5-7 years age group.

Until next time…
